Version 4.0 is here!

The IronWood Guide to Railway Safety (IGRS), available only in CD-ROM form, brings together a wide variety of information sources to create a standard reference tool for information on railway safety and accident-related topics.

 What's New in Version 4.0?

Information on the IGRS CD-ROM is organized into two main parts:

FRA Accident/Incident Database

A powerful Windows-based, user friendly version of the U.S. Federal Railroad Administration's Accident/Injury Database, containing detailed information on all reportable railroad accidents/incidents that occurred in the U.S. between 1980 and 2001.  Its built-in search engine enables you to perform complex queries to quickly identify accidents that meet specific criteria.

Railroad Safety-Related Documents

A collection of electronic documents including U.S. Code of Federal Regulations pertaining to railroad operations, U.S. National Transportation Safety Board Accident Reports and Special Studies, and research papers dealing with railway safety-related matters.  All documents are linked via an electronic index that enables you to perform full-text searches across all of the documents at once, quickly identifying articles and research papers that reference your topic.
